Student Assistant Responsibilities:
– Staff the Pride Center
– Provide appropriate information and referrals
– Assist with paperwork and data entry
– Represent the Center at events
– Welcome visitors and answer the phone
– Compile information from the Internet
– Attend bi-weekly staff meetings
Applicants should:
-be self-motivated, dependable, and mature
-possess good customer service and communication skills
-have enthusiasm for the mission of the Pride Center
-be able to take initiative and work independently without supervision
-work well as part of a team
-be educated on and have a commitment to issues related to LGBTQIA, social justice, intersectionality, diversity, inclusion, & allyship
-be able to interact with people of varying backgrounds and identities
-have the ability to convey complicated and/or controversial information in a respectful and clear manner
-demonstrate commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment

– Pay is bi-weekly by electronic deposit on Fridays
– Pay rate is $7.25, minimum wage
