OUTstanding–Call for Proposals

Dear OUTstanding Conference Supporter,

It’s that time of year again! The OUTstanding Conference, the annual LGBTQ+ conference at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville is back for its fifth year and we would like to invite you or representatives from your community to conduct a presentation or workshop for this year’s conference on Saturday, October 24th.

Our theme this year is the LGBTQ+: Self-Revelations. Janet Mock states, “Living by other people’s definitions and perceptions shrinks us to shells of ourselves, rather than complex people embodying multiple identities.” This theme covers topics such as intersectionality, vulnerability, strength and finding our own truth.

We would be honored to have you or one of your colleagues host a workshop this year. We are accepting proposals through September 15th and your input would help make this event exceptional. To submit your proposal, please fill out the attached form and email it to us. You can also find the form here.

All persons interested in presenting are welcome to submit a proposal, including faculty, staff, students and community members. For any questions regarding the conference or proposals, please email us.

We can’t wait to see you at the fifth annual OUTstanding Conference this fall.

Best wishes,
The OUTstanding Planning Committee
